Community Art: End of Summer!
Community art…the very special Family Edition- celebrating the End of Summer!
Project offerings include: favorite summer memory mural, a personalized binder cover and/or backpack/water bottle charm, and learn how to make a summer vs. school Diptych panel.
Led by Laura & Libby, recreation staff & artist volunteer. All levels & abilities are welcome- this is community art. Ages 5+ with a $2 fee and all supplies included. Call 912-898-3320 to secure your spot in class, space is limited!

Find Your Furry Family Member! Coastal Pet Rescue Adoption Event!
Join us for a heartwarming adoption event at Bentley’s Pet Stuff in Whitemarsh with Coastal Pet Rescue! They’ll be bringing a variety of adorable adoptable cats, kittens, puppies, and dogs- all looking for their loving forever homes.

Free Bonaventure Historical Society Tour
Meet at Colonial Monument Gardens inside Historic Bonaventure Cemetery. (Follow the Blue Event Signs). No ticket needed for this specific free tour series, donations are greatly appreciated. There is no cost for parking in Bonaventure.
Bonaventure Historical Society offers free guided tours on the first full weekend of every month. Our tours being at 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday at the Colonial Monument Garden inside Bonaventure Cemetery. These walking tours take about an hour and are hosted by the BHS tour guides.
There is a limit of 30 visitors per guide. If more people show up, we divide those in attendance into smaller groups.

Matinee Movie: George of the Jungle
Welcome to the Matinee Movie! KIDS ADMISSION IS FREE THIS SUMMER!
Showing George of the Jungle; A man raised in the jungle by apes and falls in love with a wealthy American heiress.
Call 912-898-3320 for more information. $2 admission includes soda, candy, and hot popcorn…and seat cushions! Camping chairs are also encouraged for your comfort, so BYOC if you want that option. No registration required for for the Matinee Movie. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Turtle Tuesdays
Every Tuesday throughout June and July, visitors to the UGA Aquarium will have special opportunities to see our ambassador turtles up close during feeding, sunning, or soaking sessions! Get a special look at animal husbandry in action as our diamondback terrapins, box turtles spotted turtles, and more enjoy their essential care routines. Don’t miss these unique moments to observe and learn about these incredible reptiles!
All ages are welcome, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Turtle Tuesday programs are included in the cost of admission to the UGA Aquarium. Registration is not required.

Yacht Rockin' the 4th with The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra
Yacht Rockin’ The Fourth is coming to Eastern Wharf! This free community concert will feature a riverfront performance by The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, bringing all the smooth-sailing vibes of the Yacht Rock era to the Eastern Wharf waterfront. Enjoy hits from genre stalwarts like the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, Toto and more; along with American patriotic favorites.
The event runs from 6-10pm and concert attendees will enjoy spectacular views of the annual fireworks display, provided by Savannah’s Waterfront at 9:30pm.
Event food trucks include The Big Cheese, Slow Fire BBQ, The Naked Dog, and Royal Tasty Avenue, with more to be announced. Eastern Wharf’s own Squirrel’s Pizza and Bar by Fleeting will be open for attendees as well.
This free event is open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and SMALL sized coolers. Visit The Park at Eastern Wharf website for full park rules. There is street parking onsite as well as parking in the Eastern Wharf garage.

Savannah Sunset Market
We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Savannah Sunset Market- one of our favorite moments of the week. Come take in the music, the vibe, and the magic of summer on the river.
We’ll have a DJ playing our Independence Day faves! Stroll through a curated mix of incredible returning vendors and exciting new faces (full lineup coming soon!). Lobster Dogs will be joining us with their rolls filled to the brim with delicious lobster. Unwind with FREE yoga on the River at 7pm wit flow of light. We’ll have bubbles for the kids.

Lunch & Learn: Turtles Dig the Dark
Bring the family, bring your lunch and join us in June for another Lunch & Learn - “Turtles Dig the Dark" presented by Dr. Christopher Hintz, Professor of Marine Sciences, Savannah State University.

Kids Yoga
Kids Yoga Classes this summer that will combine Fun, Movement, and Mindfulness!
Join us for a joyful yoga adventure designed just for kids ages 5-12 years. These classes will blend gentle movement, imagination and breath work in a fun, safe, supportive and welcoming space!
$5.00 per youngster yogi.
No experience needed-please bring a mat, and water bottle.

Disney Summer Classics: A Goofy Movie
Buckle up for a road trip of goof-tastic proportions in this animated embodiment of the ultimate dad joke! Celebrating 30 years of laughs, “A Goofy Movie” hits the highway with heart, hilarity, and one unforgettable soundtrack. Join the ever-loveable Goofy as he embarks on a cross-country adventure to bond with his teenage son Max-whether Max likes it or not. Along the way, they’ll dodge Bigfoot, brave whitewater rapids, and maybe even catch a live concert from the greatest animated rock star of all time: Powerline! Packed with first crushes, epic mishaps, and father-son feels, this cult classic is a nostalgic joyride for fans of all ages.
Tickets for the film are $5.00 for SCAD Card holders, students, seniors, military; and $8.00 for the general public. Children ages 12 and under receive free admission.

Tiny Dog Meet up
The first ever Tiny Dog Meet Up is happening at Service Brewing! This event is free and the only rules are: your tiny dog must be tiny, 15lbs or less.
We’ll have a safe indoor play area for pups to run off leash, socialize, and toss all the toys. Waggin Wheels pup trailer will be here with treats and other fun goodies and we’ll have plenty of cold beer for the pup parents. Enjoy delicious hot dogs from our pals at Naked Dog.

Grounded Play

Friday Feedings
Every Friday throughout June, July, and August, guests can witness mealtime in the aquarium as marine educators feed a variety of animals. Learn fascinating facts about their diet, behaviors, and feeding techniques while watching marine life enjoy their meals.
All ages are welcome, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Friday Feeding programs are included in the cost of admission to the UGA Aquarium.

Pollinator Palooza: FREE Bee Garden Tours!
What better way to celebrate Pollinator Week than with a FREE Bee Garden Tour!
Join us at our Wilmington Island location and get up close and personal with a working beehive to learn about the behaviors and habits of honeybees and the importance of these precious pollinators.

Drop by and join Chatham County Park Ranger Brent to learn about thr fish-loving Osprey! There is a nest at the Abolt-O’Brien soccer field to view. Bring your binoculars if you have a pair!
